Manchester City have been linked with stunning moves for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba and Everton starlet Ross Barkley, as they prepare for life without Yaya Toure, reports Metro.
France international Pogba has been linked with a return to the Premier League for some time, with Chelsea linked with a move for the 21-year-old, whilst Manchester United are also keen to bring back the player they let go so cheaply.
Now it appears Manuel Pellegrini has entered the race, as the Chilean sees Pogba as the ideal long term replacement for Yaya Toure.
But with so much competition for Pogba’s signature, Pellegrini has identified Everton starlet Ross Barkley as an alternative.
The Premier League champions were said to have made enquiries about the England international over the summer, with the Toffees reluctant to consider any offers below the £50million mark.
City are understood to value Barkley at around half that figure, so with the clubs so far apart on their valuations it appears Pellegrini will go all out to land Pogba from Juventus.
