Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini will be boosted by news that Sergio Aguero could return to the starting line up when his side host Arsenal at the weekend, Daily Mail reports.
The 26-year-old striker has posted a picture on his Instagram account showing himself working out as he hopes to regain full match fitness ahead of the vital clash with the Gunners.
Pellegrini admits that the potential return of his star striker will be big lift for his side, especially after dropping points in the 1-1 draw with Everton.
“It is important for the team. Sergio just worked two or three days with the squad this week, and now he has a full week to continue working,” he said.
“It (Aguero’s return) is important for the team. Sergio worked for just two or three days with the squad but now he has a full week to continue working.
“I hope he will return in a few days and perform how he did before he was injured.”
The result against the Toffees caused them to once again trail league leaders Chelsea, with the Blues only two points ahead of their title rivals in what looks to be another closely matched head-to-head battle to the finish line.
