Manchester City are hoping to beat Arsenal to Sevilla star Grzegorz Krychowiak, according to reports from the Express.
Krychowiak has been heavily linked with a move away from the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan during the summer, with the Gunners extremely keen on the 25-year-old.
The two clubs were unable to come to an agreement, but it has been suggested that Arsenal will make another attempt when the transfer window reopens in January.
However, now league leaders Man City are also interested in the Poland international and will provide the Gunners with some stiff competition for his signature.
The Citizens beat Sevilla 3-1 to qualify for the Champions League knock-out phase on Tuesday, but Manuel Pellegrini was also impressed by Krychowiak in defensive midfield.
With Yaya Toure reportedly unhappy at the Etihad, Krychowiak would come in as an ideal replacement if the Ivory Coast star was to depart.
Last season, Krychowiak, who is valued at £20million, made 48 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals.
