Manchester City set to strengthen in transfer window

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has hinted that he may make a move for targets in the January transfer window, as reported by Sky Sports.

Title rivals Arsenal and Chelsea are both set to improve their squads this month and Pellegrini is now set to make his move after overcoming a real scare in the FA Cup yesterday.

City were 2-0 down at home to Championship side Watford at half time of their fourth round game before Sergio Aguero sparked an impressive recovery.

Pellegrini knows that one half of football cannot spark him into big money transfer deals but the impressive Citizens may look to add one or two players towards the end of the window to sure up their already talented squad.

“We’ll see what happens, deadline day is 31 January – it’s not our first concern but we’ll see what happens in the future,” he said.

“I don’t have weak feelings about the team based on one half of football. It’s normal that the lower division team has a lot of motivation. But the reaction was there and we played a really good second half.”
