Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has signalled a warning to Newcastle United ahead of their clash this weekend, according to reports from the Daily Star.
The Citizens managed to come back from a goal down to beat Borussia Monchengladbach 2-1 in the Champions League on Wednesday, which is a welcomed result following three losses in their last four games.
It was a tough encounter with Hart in spectacular form, denying Monchengladbach forward Raffael from the penalty spot as well as several times in open play.
And the England international shot-stopper believes the Sky Blues can get back to their very best following the victory, starting with their game against Newcastle at the Etihad on Saturday.
He said: “We did it the hard way, as our fans know that’s how we’re doing things at the moment. It wasn’t really good enough. We gave far too many chances to them.
“The win is important and we really need to improve, but as badly as we played I think we still deserved to win.
“We need to get back to the first five games of the Premier League, where we were more of a balanced team. We were a bit imbalanced.
“But the season is a long season, so you have got different stages. Hopefully that will put us in a good place for the Newcastle game.”
City were favourites to win the title when they won five games on the trot without conceding a single goal, but were pegged back following consecutive losses to West Ham United and then Tottenham Hotspur, allowing Manchester United to leapfrog them into 1st.
