Manchester City are ready to launch a massive £50million bid to sign Liverpool star Raheem Sterling, according to reports from the Daily Star.
Sterling has been in brilliant form for the Reds the past two seasons, but is yet to commit his future to the club after stalling contract negotiations.
However, Man City are now also extremely interested in bringing the 20-year-old to the Etihad this summer.
The Premier League champions have a low number of home-grown players in their squad, and City boss Manuel Pellegrini sees Sterling as the perfect addition to aid their title challenge next season, as well as helping their quest to get further in the Champions League.
And with Liverpool unwilling to be held to ransom by Sterling’s contract demands, the Reds are already targeting a replacement in Arsenal star Theo Walcott, who himself is having trouble penning a new deal with the Gunners.
