Manchester City transfer target prefers Manchester United move

Manchester City are said to be ready to trigger Eliaquim Mangala’s £36.5 million release clause, but the defender shockingly admitted he would rather join rivals Manchester United instead, Mirror reports.

The Porto defender is a prime target for Manuel Pellegrini’s side, but according to statements made to his friends, he prefers either Manchester United and Chelsea.

Mangala is looking to reject an offer from City because he feels that United and Chelsea are considered to be bigger clubs.

A move to the Red Devils could be out of the question at this point as Louis van Gaal isn’t a fan of his temperament therefore he is not a top priority for the Dutch manager.

On the other hand, Jose Mourinho is believed to be a fan of the 23-year-old’s style of play and could be looking to land the French star to reinforce his defence with the recent departure of David Luiz to Paris Saint-Germain.
