Manchester City v Arsenal – Match Preview

Roberto Mancini

Manchester City take on Arsenal on Sunday, with both sides having endured contrasting fortunes in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Roberto Mancini’s men suffered a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat at the Bernabeau, whilst Wenger’s men fought back from 1-0 down to triumph 2-1 away to Montpellier.

The Gunners looked to have found their form, winning their last three matches in all competitions, scoring ten goals in the process. Last weekend’s 6-1 victory over Southampton was particularly impressive.

However there is unlikely to be a goal feast at the Etihad on Sunday, with there being only six goals scored in the last six meetings between the two sides.

Manchester City are set to welcome back Sergio Aguero for the first time since he picked up an injury on the opening day of the season, although Samir Nasri will miss out against his former club with a hamstring injury.

Mario Balotelli is also in contention after not featuring in midweek.

Victor Manone is set to continue in goal for Arsenal, with Wojciech Szczesny expected to miss a further two weeks with an ankle injury.

Tomas Rosicky and Bacary Sagna are still a few weeks away from a return.

Prediction: Manchester City 1-0 Arsenal
