Both Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri could be on their way out of Arsenal and off to Manchester City, according to The Telegraph.

City boss Roberto Mancini had originally planned a move for Everton and England left-back Leighton Baines but Everton refused to lower their £20 million asking price. Now the club seem to be close to signing Arsenal and France defender Clichy who would be available at a fraction of the cost. Clichy is entering the final year of his contract and, having stalled on a new deal, Arsenal would rather than sell him now for £7 million than lose him for nothing next summer. Liverpool had also been linked with the wing-back but it seems Sheikh Mansour’s riches could be enough to tempt the 25-year old.

France midfielder Samir Nasri is in a similar situation and continues to stall on a new deal. The 24-year old had been linked with Manchester United and AC Milan but now Manchester City appear to be preparing a £20 million bid. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger would be reluctant to sell the player to a rival domestic club but the money could be too good to turn down. However, much will depend on whether City are successful in signing Udinese star Alexis Sanchez, who appears close to a move to European Champions Barcelona.
