Wednesday's derby between Manchester City and Manchester United in the Carling Cup has been postponed.
The first leg of the cup semi-final was due to take place at the City of Manchester Stadium on Wednesday evening.
However, the heavy snow which has blanketed most of northern England on Tuesday has led to the postponement of the eagerly-anticipated clash.
A rescheduled date of Tuesday 19 January has already been agreed which means the second leg – originally set for Old Trafford on that date – has now been put back to Wednesday 27 January.
The inclement weather had already put paid to the other last-four tie, with Blackburn's game against Aston Villa at Ewood Park scheduled for Tuesday night called off earlier in the day.
