Barcelona star Dani Alves could be on his way to the English Premier League with Manchester United and Liverpool both interested in his services, Express reports.
Barca manager Luis Enrique isn’t looking to extend the defender’s contract which expires next summer, and the Catalan club could sell him in January to avoid losing him for free.
New £4.5million signing Douglas and Martin Montoya are both competing with Alves for a starting berth at right-back, as well as Barcelona still keen on signing Fiorentina ace Juan Cuadrado.
Cuadrado was one of the La Liga giant’s priority transfer targets during the past summer, however an agreement couldn’t be reached, resulting in Alves staying at the Nou Camp.
However it seems that Man United and Liverpool could offer the Brazilian international an escape route by luring him to the Premier League on a one year contract.
The English duo will need to fend off interest from Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, who have both also been keeping an eye on the 31-year-old.
Alves made 42 appearances for Barcelona last season, scoring four goals.
