Manchester United boss dismisses talk of interference

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson

Manchester United manager David Moyes has laughed off reports that Reds legend Sir Alex Ferguson is interfering with his management at Old Trafford, as reported by Daily Mail.

Sir Alex has been present at every home game so far this season but his new role as a director at the club is now his priority according to Moyes.

The former Everton boss was recommended by Ferguson to take over from him at Old Trafford and Moyes has admitted that he will seek advice from the newly retired manager when it is on offer.

With his first Manchester derby today, Moyes may need to take some advice from Ferguson given his record against the top clubs at Everton but the Scotsman has dismissed claims that Sir Alex is interfering with him.

‘No, absolutely none whatsoever,’ said Moyes,

‘I speak to him once a week. I pop in to see him after the game. We’ll say hello. He is a director now and I am going to use his advice. Why would I not do that? I would be a fool not to.

‘I’m happy for him to be here. He is not interfering. There is no interference whatsoever because he knows what it is to be a manager and he knows what that entails. You have to get on with the job yourself.’
