Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed the news that Paul Pogba is coming to Old Trafford, and spoken out about the incoming signing.
The Frenchman has been linked with a return to United all summer, 4 years after he left the club with his United contract expired. But it seems the deal is finally about to happen, to the delight of both United fans, and the boss, according to the Daily Star.
Speaking after their 2-1 victory in the FA Community Shield over Leicester City, Mourinho said: “Finally. It’s amazing that such a good player is with us.”
“Finally we have him. He comes to a winning side – a team who have their last two matches, in the FA Cup and today. He has to work hard to come to the team.”
Pogba is expected to cost 9 figures once his agent fees have been added, after joining Juventus for about £800,000 in 2012.
Mourinho was speaking after goals from Jesse Lingard and Zlatan Ibrahimovic helped United to win his first piece of silverware since taking over at Old Trafford.
He then kicks off the new season away to Bournemouth on Sunday, and could have Pogba at his disposal, with the deal expected to be completed well in time for the season opener.
