Manchester United could announce their second summer signing in the next few days, with Barcelona star Dani Alves being offered a larger signing on fee contract to make a switch to Old Trafford, according to reports from the Metro.
However, it has been claimed that the 32-year-old will join Louis van Gaal’s side this summer after the Red Devils offered him a significantly better deal compared to one given by his current employers.
Alves was previously adamant he wanted to remain at the Nou Camp, but was frustrated with Barca’s handling of his contract, leaving him reconsidering other options.
And United boss Van Gaal sees Alves as the perfect solution to his right back problem, with natural midfielder Antonio Valencia presently the first-choice for the role.
The former Sevilla star has the chance to win his third Champions League trophy after helping Barca into the final by knocking out Bayern Munich in the semi-finals on Tuesday.
