Manchester United’s Paddy McNair joins the ever-growing injury list at the club after picking up a hamstring injury that could rule him out for up to three weeks, Daily Star reports.
The 19-year-old defender started his last two matches and saw United pick up two consecutive victories which has now put them in fourth place ahead of the international break.
McNair was selected to replace Jonny Evans in the squad after a host of injuries to Phil Jones as well as Chris Smalling left a gaping hole in search for a proper centre-back, forcing Louis van Gaal to revert left back Marcos Rojo into the middle.
The Northern Irish starlet was set for his international debut this week, but a hamstring injury has now ruled him out of playing for his country as well as adding extra pressure on the Red Devils’ back-line.
Some positive boost for Van Gaal will be the news that both Jones and Smalling is back in training and although the pair will likely miss England’s Euro 2016 qualifier, they could feature the following weekend in the league.
