Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward has flown to Barcelona to complete the £22million deal for Pedro Rodriguez, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
Despite starting for Barca in their 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish Super Cup, Pedro has found it difficult to play on a regular basis with Neymar, Luis Suarez, and Lionel Messi ahead of him in the pecking order.
And his frustrations have alerted Man United, with Ed Woodward looking to secure the deal before the end of the transfer window.
The Red Devils are currently lacking in the attacking department after the departures of Radamel Falcao and Robin van Persie in the summer, and hope to fill the void with Pedro’s capture.
The 28-year-old only started 15 La Liga games for the Spanish champions last season, scoring six league goals.
