Manchester United are looking at Borussia Dortmund’s Jurgen Klopp as a replacement for David Moyes during the summer, Mirror reports.
With a transfer kitty of over £200m, the Red Devils hierarchy is not convinced that Moyes has done enough to stay at the Old Trafford helm.
If the former Everton boss was to leave, they have their eyes on Klopp, who guided Dortmund to the UEFA Champions League final last season.
United have reportedly held meetings last week with Dutch coach Luis Van Gaal, fueling speculation of Moyes’ imminent departure.
However if both managers were available, it is understood that Klopp is their first choice.
The German has transformed Dortmund from a fourth place side to league champions, winning the German Bundesliga back in 2012.
He plays a very aggressive brand of attacking football and Manchester United feel that is exactly what is required to satisfy the Old Trafford faithful.
Klopp is also being closely monitored by Spanish giants Barcelona, who are looking to part with coach Tata Martino after this season.
The United board are also impressed with Klopp’s transfers, having purchased the likes of Marco Reus, Ilkay Gundogan, and Robert Lewandowski – are hoping he can bring players of similar caliber to Manchester.
