Manchester United eyeing cut price Barcelona ace

Barcelona youngster Sergi Roberto

Manchester United boss David Moyes is contemplating a move for Barcelona youngster Sergi Roberto in January, according to the Metro.

The struggling North West club have been offered the Spain under-21 international for a cut price £6million after Roberto struggled to push his way into the Catalan clubs midfield.

Moyes is desperate for more creativity in his midfield after being unimpressed by Tom Cleverley, Shinji Kagawa and Anderson during his short time at Old Trafford.

Summer bids for the likes of Thiago, Cesc Fabregas and Ander Herrera came and failed but Roberto would be keen to join the Red Devils in the new year.

Roberto has just 18 months left on his contract and after failing to muscle the likes of Andres Iniesta, Xavi, Fabregas and Sergio Busquets out of the Barcelona midfield.

Tottenham were keen to bring Roberto to the Premier League in the summer but could not agree a deal and they could well come back in for the Spaniard in January.
