Manchester United flop Nani is set to return to the club this summer, but is expected to be sold following the £25million signing of PSV Eindhoven star Memphis Depay, according to reports from the Telegraph.
Nani is currently on loan at former club Sporting Lisbon after struggling for regular playing time last season, with United still paying his £110,000-a-week wages as part of the deal for Marcos Rojo last summer.
The Portugal international has had a fairly successful time back in his homeland, but Sporting do not have the financial capability to keep the winger at the Estádio José Alvalade.
This means that Nani will return to Old Trafford at the end of the season, but Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal sees the 28-year-old as surplus to requirements with the likes of Depay, Ashley Young, Angel di Maria, Antonio Valencia, and Adnan Januzaj all vying for a starting role.
Man United will therefore be looking to sell Nani, but since he still has three years remaining on his current contract, the club may be unable to find a suitor capable of paying his wages.
