Manchester United are preparing a £45million bid for Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.
That’s according to El Confidencial, who claim Real value the Spaniard at £64million. Morata has returned to Madrid after a brief spell at Juventus, with the La Liga side exercising their buy-back clause.
The 23-year-old scored 7 Serie A goals last season, 1 shy of the 8 he scored in his first season with the Italian champions.
But despite signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer, Jose Mourinho is keen to add more striking options, and is ready to bring in the young Spaniard. Although he isn’t ready to meet the club’s valuation.
Morata played in all 4 of Spain’s Euro 2016 fixtures, scoring 3 goals, and kept Diego Costa out of the squad that travelled to France.
Mourinho has said he sees Wayne Rooney as a forward, and also has youngster Marcus Rashford at his disposal. But the Former Chelsea boss is still eager to add goals, and sees Morata as the perfect forward to bring to Old Trafford.
