Manchester United look to have won the race to sign Andreas Perreira, PSV Eindhoven’s Brazillian born Belgian youth international. (Talksport)
The 15 year old midfielder is looked at as one of European football’s brightest prospects and United will be delighted to have won his signature.
Perreira swapped Brazil for Belgium when he was a child before making the switch to PSV. Now it seems that following a meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson Perreira is ready to swap countries once more.
Indeed, the youngster said “I have been a few times to Manchester United to have a look. I got a tour and spoke with Sir Alex Ferguson. Being a 15-year-old and being able to talk with him is great.”
At 15 Perreira cannot sign a long term deal, however in 2012 when he turns 16 a long term deal with the Old Trafford club looks certain.
Perreira gave his reasons for moving, stating, “I knew that PSV had given me my chance, but Manchester United is obviously a great club. Other British clubs were interested. I thought about it, but Manchester United is a dream club for me.”
It will be a few years before the success of the signing can be judged but right now those at United can be excited by Perreira’s raw talent.
