Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has some words of advice for the club's new signing Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian international recently joined the Red Devils in a deal that The Telegraph claims cost £75m, but could rise to £90m with add-ons.

Lukaku impressed at Everton last season, scoring 25 Premier League goals, falling just shy of Harry Kane's total of 29, which won the Tottenham Hotspur forward the Golden Boot.

The 24-year-old was the main man at Goodison Park, which carries with it a certain level of pressure, but Giggs has told the striker to expect a heavier weight on his shoulders.

The former Wales international told Sky Sports:

"He will be under scrutiny that he's never had before at West Brom, or Chelsea, or Everton. The pressure will be on you. So he needs to develop a thick skin, he needs to listen to the coaches, because that's all that counts really.

"And if he misses a chance, the next one that comes along he needs to put it away because, as a centre-forward at United, you're under scrutiny all the time."

As it stands, Lukaku is expected to be United's main scorer as he has taken the number nine shirt off Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The ex-Sweden international was forced to cut short his time at Old Trafford after suffering a serious knee injury in the closing stages of last season.

Ibrahimovic, 35, netted 27 goals in all competitions last season.
