Manchester United old boy wants Modric move

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Mark Bosnich believes the club should go all out to bring Luka Modric to Old Trafford this summer, as reported by talkSPORT.

United boss David Moyes has seen numerous bids for midfielders rejected this summer but could make a last effort to bring Modric back to the Premier League after the Croatian suffered an indifferent first season in La Liga.

Gareth Bale’s pending move to the Spanish capital is set to see a number of fellow midfielders fall down the pecking order under Carlo Ancelotti and the likes of Modric and Mesut Ozil could demand a move away from the club.

Bosnich is keen to see at least one big name arrive at Old Trafford before Monday’s deadline and is hoping Moyes goes all out for Modric.

“A creative midfield player has been a priority for Manchester United for some time,” Bosnich said.

“If Gareth Bale does go to Real Madrid, then they’ll have to get rid of some players to help balance the books.

“I would go all-out for Luka Modric if I was Man United. He’s a wonderful creative player, he’s played in the Premier League before and he’s just the player they need, especially in those Champions League games.

“Those are the games when you do need a number 10, a deep lying passer, the sort of player who can unlock the tightest of defences in the final third.”
