Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata is set to extend his time at the club despite interest from overseas, Metro report.
The Spain international has had a hot-and-cold time of it at Old Trafford since a move from Chelsea and has two years remaining on his current contract.
Reports in the press suggest that the gifted schemer is a target for a number of foreign clubs, including former team Valencia.
However, despite this, Mata is being tipped to extend his time at Old Trafford by putting pen to paper on a new deal in the near future.
With Jose Mourinho being tipped to take over at United, it would be an interesting subplot given that the Portuguese did not rate Mata during their mutual time at Chelsea.
The Spaniard was named as the Red Devils captain in the recent Europa League defeat to Liverpool, which drew criticism for Louis van Gaal in the press.
