Manchester United are considering a move to sign Everton star Seamus Coleman, who is also being tracked by Chelsea, Daily Star reports.
Coleman has been linked with Man United these past few transfer windows, and the Toffees are set to receive a £25million offer for their highly-rated right-back.
United manager Louis van Gaal believes that the 26-year-old is an upgrade to Rafael, reliable in defence but also able to push forward in either a 3-5-2 or a 4-4-2 system.
Rafael is also struggling with injuries, resulting in Van Gaal fielding Antonio Valencia instead.
The Red Devils will however need to move quick for the Ireland international, with league leaders Chelsea also monitoring the situation.
The Blues have mooted their interest in signing Coleman, despite Branislav Ivanovic and Cesar Azpilicueta both able to play right-back.
However Man United have an advantage due to Everton’s interest in Adnan Januzaj, and could potentially use Coleman to land a swap deal for the Belgian attacker.
