Manchester United are set to battle Paris Saint-Germain in the race for Bayern Munich star Robert Lewandowski, according to reports from the Daily Star.
Lewandowski is considered as one of the deadliest strikers on the continent, with the Poland international going viral a few months ago by scoring an incredible five goals in just nine minutes after coming off the bench.
And his exploits have seen Ligue-1 giants PSG keen on his services, and German source Bild has claimed that the French champions are prepared to make a massive offer to lure him away from the Allianz Arena next summer.
However, they also added that United are preparing to hijack the bid by offering Lewandowksi an incredible £10.9m-a-year contract, which will make him the highest paid player in the Premier League.
The Red Devils are desperate to sign a new centre forward with just Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial the only natural strikers on the roster.
Lewandowski, 27, has made 25 appearances in all competitions, scoring 23 goals.
