Manchester United are ready to make a £25million bid for Tottenham Hotspur star Hugo Lloris, according to reports from the Metro.
United look resigned to losing goalkeeper David de Gea to Real Madrid this summer, and have targeted Lloris as the perfect replacement for the 24-year-old.
The Red Devils are being linked with the likes of Ajax ace Jasper Cillessen and Stoke City shot-stopper Asmir Begovic, but it is believed that Louis van Gaal’s top target is the France international captain.
Lloris has been a consistent and reliable performer for the Lilywhites ever since his move from Lyon back in the summer of 2012, but has found it frustrating that Spurs have been unable to qualify for the Champions League.
This has thus given United a boost in their attempts to sign the 28-year-old, with the club finishing fourth in the English top flight last season.
And although Tottenham will be reluctant of letting Lloris depart, a bid in the region of £25million may be too good to turn down with the club planning a summer overhaul of their own.
