Manchester United have moved ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Ezequiel Lavezzi, according to reports from the Metro.
The 29-year-old is being tipped to leave the Ligue-1 giants in the summer and has been linked with a switch to the Premier League.
Apart from the Reds, Arsenal are among the clubs interested in luring the Argentina international to England, but could now lose out to United.
It is believed that manager Louis van Gaal is set to offer a higher salary to the PSG star in order to lure him to Old Trafford.
He is said to be worth around the £14million region, a fee the Red Devils are surely able to pay to complete his switch from France.
Lavezzi is still being used as a season regular for his current side, already featuring in 32 matches in all competitions, scoring five goals and providing three assists.
