Manchester United set for record summer spending

Manchester United manager David Moyes is set to have a £100million transfer kitty to spend in the summer, according to the Daily Mail.

United go into today’s game at home to Fulham ten points adrift of the Champions League places and five points away from  a Europa League qualification spot, so the pressure is on Moyes to turn things around.

Juan Mata was signed from Chelsea in January for a club record fee and now the former Everton manager Moyes is set to be handed a bigger transfer budget than Sir Alex Ferguson ever was.

Moyes has already eyed up his future signings with Southampton’s Luke Shaw, Juventus star Arturo Vidal and Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa heading the list.

After failing to sign his preferred targets last summer, Moyes was criticised for his work in the transfer market but next summer the funds will be readily available for the Red Devils to snap up their main targets and improve the squad.
