Manchester United set for transfer disappointment

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has once again batted away talk of Manchester United making a move for him this summer, as reported by Sky Sports.

United made a move for the Spanish international last summer but were knocked back by both club and player, a common theme in pre-season for David Moyes.

The former Arsenal midfielder stated at the time that he was happy with the Catalan club and his patience for first team football has been rewarded with regular game time this season.

Fabregas was pleased to be linked with such a big club as United but admitted he was never going to leave Barcelona and he won’t be in the summer.

“It’s always flattering when a club like Manchester United talks very well about you and you can see they want you,” the Spaniard told Football Focus.

“But I’m going through an amazing moment now.

“I’m playing every week and I feel very important to the team. I’m very happy right now.

“This season I have felt more like myself, with more freedom and more secure with the way I like to play. It’s not easy when you know you have to convince many fans how good you are and how good you can be for the team.

“The manager has trusted me and given me what I needed. I’m probably going through my best spell here.”
