Manchester United star Luke Shaw is set to return from his ankle injury on Boxing Day, Mirror reports.
The England international have been sidelined for a month after damaging ankle ligaments during their 2-1 win over Arsenal, but is now expected to make a full recovery by the 26th.
Shaw is back in full training with the squad, but although he is unlikely to feature against Aston Villa this weekend, the 19-year-old should return to face Newcastle United.
The Red Devils have been struggling with several injuries this season, but despite their problems, sit third on the Premier League table.
During Shaw’s absence Ashley Young has been deployed to great effect in the left wing-back role, and will be likely to start against his former club on Saturday.
If United manage to beat Villa, Louis van Gaal’s side will have won seven games on the trot and be closing in on second-place Manchester City, who play earlier against Crystal Palace at the Etihad that day.
