Manchester United star opposes apointment of Dutch manager

Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney is believed to have asked senior officials at the club to not name Louis van Gaal as the new manager this summer, Metro reports.

The Dutchman is currently poised to accept an offer in the very near future, but with news of a conflict of interest between United’s star man and their potential candidate, everything could now be put on hold.

Rumours suggest that Rooney is not a fan of the former Barcelona boss highlighting Van Gaal’s hard-line methods as a factor in his decision as he urges the board of directors to look elsewhere.

Additional reports make claims that with the England striker being the club’s highest paid player, he will definitely have some influence with the upper management in regards to who will be in charge next season.

With Van Gaal’s appointment not yet officially confirmed, nothing is set in stone, therefore a move for somebody else United have lined up is surely not out of the question.
