Manchester United ace Michael Carrick believes that the returning form of Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie, and summer signing Radamel Falcao make the Red Devils a scary team once again, Daily Mail reports.
The English midfielder insists rival clubs should now be frightened of the United front-line after Van Persie and Rooney both got their name on the score-sheet, with Falcao almost scoring coming off the bench in their 3-0 home win over Hull City.
Rooney could miss Tuesday’s midweek clash with a knee problem while Angel di Maria is definitely sidelined, but Carrick believes that their opponents should be worried nonetheless with the side starting to click.
“When you have got Robin and Wayne scoring, and Falcao coming off the bench and nearly scoring, we’ll be a threat to anyone,’ Carrick said.
“You want those boys when they’re flying and it’s scary to play against.
“What Robin and Wayne did against Hull, we’ve seen that happen so often in the past and hopefully we’ll see that in the coming weeks again.
“When you’ve got those lads scoring goals and creating chances it gives the whole team huge confidence and belief.
“That’s the sort of standard we want to be at, dominating teams and winning,’ he added. ‘Hopefully we can carry on like this and that fear factor will creep back.”
United have won five out of their seven home games this season, and will be confident of getting a result against Stoke City on Tuesday.
