Jesse Lingard has admitted that he feels a lot of pressure as a Manchester United player, as he told United Review.
Lingard, who is 23, has scored five goals for Manchester United this season but he was very open about the pressure he feels playing for such a huge club. The Red Devils have struggled to live up to expectations over the last couple of seasons and Lingard, along with several others, has been facing the brunt of the criticism from fans.
The youngster seemed to be accepting of the pressure and was fully aware of the responsibility that comes with being a regular starter at Old Trafford. Lingard has out performed bigger names, like Memphis Depay, for much of the campaign and has been considered by some as a potential England player.
Lingard said, “You’ve got to be confident.. but not in an arrogant way”. The Manchester United winger continues to impress and that confidence is becoming increasingly obvious in his play.
