Manchester United target breaks silence on transfer rumours

Manchester United target Kevin Strootman has broken his silence on widespread reports he is set to complete a January move to Old Trafford, reports the Express.

The Holland international is currently recovering from a long term injury, but that has not stopped Louis van Gaal registering an interest in the defensive midfielder.

And Strootman has refused to rule out the prospect of teaming up with his former national team coach at Old Trafford.

When questioned on the stories linking him to Manchester United, Strootman replied:

“Immediately after the knee surgery I had only one goal in mind.

“I want to return to the pitch as soon as possible, but only when I am 100% fit and useful to the team.

“I train every day to become stronger and stronger.”
Roma have previously indicated they have no intention of selling Strootman in the January transfer window, with Roma chief saying it would take a whopping bid of £75million for them to consider selling the Dutchman.
