Manchester United target Colombian ace to solve defensive woes

Manchester United have reportedly identified Jeison Murillo as the man to rebuild their defence around and will make a move for the Inter Milan centre-half this summer, according to The Mirror.

The Red Devils are ready to revamp their playing squad this summer with new stars from the continent, with defence a specific area that they will look to reinforce.

United have deployed Daley Blind out of position for large portions of the campaign, while Phil Jones has had his injury troubles.

As such, the Old Trafford outfit have been overly reliant on Chris Smalling at the centre of their rearguard.

Murillo starred at last summer’s Copa America tournament for Colombia and has been a standout for Inter since moving to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in the summer.

A price tag in excess of £15 million is expected to be required to convince the Serie A side to part company with the 23-year-old.
