Manchester United target happy to take pay cut

Galatasaray midfielder Wesley Sneijder would take a hefty pay cut in order to push through a move to Manchester United in January, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Dutch international is hoping to secure a move to England after becoming frustrated in Turkey despite Galatasaray qualifying for the knock out stages of the Champions League.

Sneijder is also worried for his place in the Holland squad ahead of next years’ World Cup and at the age of 29, it may be his final major tournament for the Dutch.

United are preparing a £10million bid for the playmaker with David Moyes struggling to pack his midfield with quality.

Galatasaray may be willing to let Sneijder go if the player demands a move but the players’ wages are seen as an issue for the Premier League champions.

However Sneijder is willing to lose £1million a year from his current contract in order to make the move happen and United will be willing to meet those demands to give Moyes a real boost going into the second half of the season.
