Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo will pen a new contract in the Spanish capital according to new manager Carlo Ancelotti, as reported by Sky Sports.
The former Manchester United winger has been linked with a return to the North West of England as new manager David Moyes looks for a marquee summer signing.
Moyes will not give up on Ronaldo but Gareth Bale’s stay at Tottenham appears to be the catalyst for any move with Ronaldo set to stay.
The Portuguese hero has two years remaining on his current deal but Madrid know they cannot demand anywhere near the £80million he is currently valued at in any future transfer window should he not sign a new deal.
“Everyone knows that he is a superstar and a great player,” Ancelotti said.
“The most important thing for the club is that a player of his quality shows the utmost professionalism. That is good, especially for the young players who can see a world-class player working with that attitude.
“I am not responsible for the renewal of his contract, but it won’t be a problem.”
