Manchester United to axe £27.5m transfer flop

Manchester United are ready to sell flop signing Marouane Fellaini for £15million this summer, Express reports.

Fellaini was a £27.5m deadline day signing by then United manager David Moyes last year and has performed terribly for the Red Devils.

And newly appointed manager Louis van Gaal does not see the former Everton star as capable of playing in his new look side.

Therefore the 2012 Premier League champions will offload Fellaini for £15million, willing to take a hit of £12million to get rid of the midfielder.

The Belgian made only 16 appearances for Man United last season, failing to score a single goal.

He was out for three months at the early stages of the season with a wrist injury, but when fit struggled to even make the United bench.

Now the Red Devils hierarchy concur they’ve purchased a flop, and are willing to cut their losses for the sake of the team and the player’s career.

But with Fellaini’s performance such a disaster, it would be difficult to command a transfer fee of £15million, with United board even considering lowering the price to the region of £10m.
