Manchester United are considering a move for Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul as a possible replacement for David de Gea, Mirror reports.
The Red Devils have recently signed former Barcelona goalkeeper on a free transfer, which leaves Spanish compatriot David de Gea’s future in doubt.
De Gea has been in magnificent form for United this season, alerting European champions Real Madrid who see him as the perfect heir to Iker Casillas.
With De Gea’s contract expiring in the summer of 2016, United are extremely keen to sign him on a new deal, but the two have been unable to come to an agreement.
It seems that the 24-year-old would like to keep the option of returning to Spain open, which will leave manager Louis van Gaal pondering whether he should move for a new keeper.
And the name being mentioned is Newcastle’s Tim Krul, who worked under Van Gaal in the Netherland’s run to the World Cup semi-finals this past summer.
