Manchester United are looking to sell Robin van Persie and Angel di Maria in order to fund a massive bid for Real Madrid ace Gareth Bale, according to reports from the Mirror.
United have been heavily linked with a move for Bale since the January window, and will be looking to finance the transfer by offloading two of their biggest names.
Van Persie has struggled for form and fitness for much of the season, while Di Maria has failed to adapt to English football in his first campaign for the Red Devils.
Selling the United duo is set to reduce the club’s wage bill by a massive £500,000-a-week, boosting their financial power to purchase Bale.
The Welshman has had a tough campaign at the Santiago Bernabeu, being criticised by the fans for much of the season.
And it seems that the La Liga giants are looking to cash in on the winger and recoup some of £85million they used to purchase him from Tottenham Hotspur back in 2013.
Bale has played 47 games in all competitions this season, scoring 17 goals and supplying 12 assists.
