Manchester City coach Roberto Mancini has admitted Hamburg youngster Jerome Boateng has impressed him and he may make a move for the defender in the summer.
The 21-year-old has already told his club's officials that he wants a move away from the Bundesliga in the summer and with a reported £11million buy-out clause in his contract, it is a small price for the big-spending Citizens to pay.
He has already won his way into Joachim Low's Germany national side and he is tipped to make the World Cup Finals squad in the summer.
With Boateng making his intentions clear, Mancini has now declared he is a fan of the centre-half ahead of City's derby clash with Manchester United on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters, Mancini said:"He is only young but he is a good player.
"We have followed him, like we have followed a lot of players but I don't think we will decide what to do until after this season is over."
