Mancini casts doubt on his future

Manchester City coach Roberto Mancini is unsure whether he will still be at the club next season.

The Italian tactician, who replaced Mark Hughes in the hot-seat last December, is preparing his team for the pivotal top-four battle with Aston Villa on Saturday amid reports of dressing room discord.

When asked if he would remain in charge, the former Internazionale supremo remained tight-lipped.

"No, I don't know this," he said."I don't decide this. I have a contract, I can decide training, the players, but other things are decided by the owners.

"I imagine I will be sitting here in September. I think I will still be Manchester City manager. I hope so. I don't decide but I think I will be. I have three years left on my contract.

"I'm here for us to be an important team next year. We want to finish fourth. But if we don't, we play next year in the Europa League.

"I think we have a fantastic chance to become a very important team next year if we build, if we work hard and if we have time. But I'm a manager and when I became a manager I knew the rules."
