Burnley have distanced themselves from rumours linking them with a January transfer window swoop for Algerian midfielder Yazid Mansouri.
The 31-year-old is currently playing for FC Lorient in France and was reported to have held talks with the Clarets about a possible move to Turf Moor.
However, a brief statement on Burnley's official website read: "Burnley Football Club has not entered into any negotiations with the midfielder."
Mansouri has prior experience of life in England after spending the 2003-04 season with Coventry City, featuring in 15 first-team matches for the Sky Blues.
He had been quoted in an Algerian newspaper as saying: "I have had discussions with Burnley's directors and all that remains is for the two clubs to agree a deal."
