Newcastle United are set to complete a move for Marseille star Florian Thauvin after undergoing a club medical, according to reports from the Mirror.
The 22-year-old is said to be in negotiations over a £50,000-a-week deal as he edges closer to finalizing his £12million transfer.
However, as part of their efforts to complete the transfer, the Ligue 1 side have agreed terms to sign Magpies midfielder Remy Cabella on a season-long loan with the option to make the switch permanent.
Thauvin has constantly been linked with Newcastle over the past few months as manager Steve McClaren prepares to increase his spending to almost £50million this summer.
The winger featured 38 times in all competitions for his side last term, scoring five goals while providing a further seven assists.
McClaren is still keen on reinforcing his squad as he is yet to register his first win after drawing their season opener against Southampton 2-2 and losing 2-0 to Swansea City at the weekend.
