Martin Jol focusing on youth

Fulham manager Martin Jol has admitted that he is focusing on uncovering new young players as potential replacements for players that may be sold this summer.

The likes of Clint Dempsey, Moussa Dembele and Brede Hangeland are all attracting interest from other clubs after strong seasons at Craven Cottage, and the Dutch coach has stated that he would replace any sold players with prospects for the future.

“I am used to it because in Holland, for example, they do it all the time,” he told Mirror Football.

“They sell one or two, and try and get even better by spending the money on younger players and developing again. That is what we are trying to do here.

“I can’t, of course, have 16 players all worth £20million, but I always try and create our own situation.

“There is a lot of interest in my players and that is why I must use my experience to find younger players,” he concluded.

Fulham travel to take on champions Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Monday night.
