Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez praised his side for their fighting spirit after they came from two goals down to rescue a 2-2 draw in their FA Cup fourth round tie at Notts County.
Martinez told the Evening Post:“I am delighted with the reaction we showed.
“Earlier in the season, the sort of performance we came up with in the first half would have continued into the second half and we’d have ended up with a disaster.
“Thankfully, this time it was different.
“We also need to give credit to Notts County because they really raised their game, matched us well and were good value for their lead at half-time.
“We had a few players who had never played in the FA Cup before, they maybe didn’t know what to expect, and they took 45 minutes to realise exactly what is required.
“At half-time we adjusted accordingly and the second half was far more like us.”
