Arsenal have received a massive boost ahead of their hectic December period with the news that star man Alexis Sanchez’s injury isn’t as bad as initially feared, according to reports from the Mirror.
Sanchez was struggling with a slight hamstring problem before their 1-1 draw against Norwich City on Saturday, but was given the green light by the medical team to feature against the Canaries.
However, the Chile international overworked his hamstring and was forced off in the 60th minute, with fears that Sanchez may need six whole weeks to fully recover.
This meant that he would miss several important clashes, including their must-win Champions League game against Olympiakos on December 10 and a top-of-the-table fixture with Manchester City on the 21st.
But, scans on Monday have revealed that Sanchez injury isn’t as severe as previously thought, and that he is set to be in contention to face the Citizens in three weeks time
The 26-year-old has scored nine goals in 20 games so far this term.
