The Serie A title is not beyond second-placed Napoli's reach, according to boss Walter Mazzarri. The Neapolitans are second in the race for the Scudetto, three points behind pace-setters AC Milan with seven league games remaining.

And Mazzarri is confident they can secure their first title in more than 20 years.

"We are going beyond all expectations and anything can happen now," he told Italian television.

"We will try to go as high as possible and then see where we are at the end of the season."

"All this is not just down to the coach, as when there are years like this it means all the areas of the team and club worked together at their best."

Napoli centre-back Paolo Cannavaro stressed the importance of winning the Serie A and how such an achievement would eclipse that World Cup-winning feat of the Italian national team in 2006.

"The Scudetto with Napoli's shirt is more beautiful than the World Cup won by my brother," Cannavaro said.

"It would have a different meaning because the Neapolitans wouldn't forget it."

"It's an extra weapon for this team with respect to Milan."
