Manchester United will be boosted by news that Angel Di Maria is set to start against Liverpool this weekend with the £59.7million man sure to add some venom into Louis van Gaal’s squad, Daily Star reports.
The 26-year-old was unable to feature in his team’s previous two fixtures against against Stoke City and Southampton, but was still able to see his side come out victorious in both outings.
He suffered a hamstring injury after only 13 minutes during the 3-0 victory over Hull City, but has now returned to full training as he builds back his fitness ahead of the much anticipated clash with Liverpool.
Di Maria has been in great form ever since his big money move from Real Madrid during the summer, scoring three goals and providing six assist in his 11 starts this season.
His return to the squad will ease some pressure of Louis van Gaal in his bids to strengthen the team’s struggling attack force after registering only three shots on target against the Saints on Monday despite coming out eventual 2-1 winners.
